Description
You know those little things on the beach that you see from the corner of your eye, and when you try to look to see what it was that caught your attention, THERE'S NOTHING THERE, and you begin to doubt your sanity? Well, this critter here is what you saw. It's a ghost crab, this one is smaller than a dime, and the reason you can't see him/her, is that they are really stinking fast, (Like 9mph) and disappear into their hidey-hole that might be up to 4 feet deep, before you can locate them. But, if you're patient, and sit quietly in a beach chair, eventually they will get brave enough to venture out, and one can catch a decent photo of them with a 600mm lens, provided you don't make any sudden movements, or a seagull's shadow doesn't pass over. Taken at S. Padre Island, near Brownsville, Tx.
