Artist's Description
This Great Horned Owl was spotted sitting on a fence post about halfway down the road from my house to my front gate. As soon as I saw him, I ran back to the house and grabbed my camera and a telephoto lens. I began taking pictures of him from quite a ways away, but edging closer after each shot or two. I was eventually able to get about 20 feet from him before he quit staring a hole into my soul, turned his back to me, and flew away. I have no idea what happened to his eye, but it is a reminder to me that we all have a cross to bear, and can preserve though tough times.
