Somewhere on, or close to the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway in New Mexico, which runs from Taos, to Angel Fire, Red River, and Questa, this mountain is scraping the bottom of the clouds, and providing a perfect background to the turning Aspen trees.
A few years ago, I wanted to add some fall foliage pictures to my portfolio. Since my hometown in West Texas doesn't provide much in that area due to a lack of anything but mesquite trees, I drove to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and made it my home base for 3 or 4 days. The original plan was to drive around the countryside, find beautiful stands of turning aspens, and return to that spot the next day when the light was striking the trees from the desired direction.
As often happens, the weather didn't fully cooperate with my plans, and it remained cloudy for almost the whole time I was there. Cloudy conditions can help make colors jump out in a photograph though, so my cameras and I just drove all day, every day, looking for anything...
Steve Templeton spends his retirement days operating a small professional camera & lens rental operation in Abilene, TX. When he can get away from the day to day grind, he loves taking pictures of God's creation, which encompasses a plethora of subjects. Whether you are an interior designer, a buyer for hotels or corporate offices, or shopping for wall art for your own home, you'll find a little something for everyone in his portfolio. If you don't see what you are searching for, please feel free to contact him, as this is just a small sampling of his body of work.
