High Plains Pivot Sprinkler Bath Towel

The center pivot sprinkler system has changed the face of modern day farming. Gone are the days of digging furrows and using short pieces of pipe to suction out of a channel into each row which was crazily labor intensive. "Got to go change the water," my father in law used to say, and we wouldn't see him for hours.

My wife's parents were farmers up on the High Plains of Texas, as were their parents before them, growing cotton, and later on corn. For her birthday one year, my Mother-In-Law, who was a painter, wanted to tour the area around their home and take pictures for her to paint. (She really just wanted me to have the chance to take pictures of things she knew were close by....) So, we all hopped in an SUV, and spent an afternoon driving and shooting. This picture is one of many I felt were keepers from that memorable occasion.
