Description
The Monarch's were passing through our part of the country, and my wife and I spent a couple of evenings chasing around, trying to find different spots where they were gathering at dusk to roost for the night. There's no telling how many hours we spent, or how many miles we drove to find what we were looking for.
After the 2nd or 3rd evening of searching with disappointing results, we drove home, and as we rounded the corner at our house, this group of Monarch's seemed to be taunting me saying, "Where you been, we've been right here waiting for you!"
Fun facts: Unlike summer generations that live for two to six weeks as adults, adults in the migratory generation can live for up to nine months, and they may travel up to 3,000 miles to reach their overwintering home in Central Mexico.
