Some of the prettiest displays of bluebonnets in Texas are in the right of way and barrow ditches of state highways. The Texas Dept. of Transportation has for years seeded bluebonnets and paintbrushes along our highways, and if there has been enough moisture during the winter months, a simple drive down the road in springtime is a joy to behold.
This dilapidated farm house is along Hwy 6 South of Navasota, TX, and the 5-10 acre plot was teeming with bluebonnets on this trip. Since I took this photo, I have passed by the same property for roughly the last 10 years, and have never seen another bluebonnet on it!
Steve Templeton spends his retirement days operating a small professional camera & lens rental operation in Abilene, TX. When he can get away from the day to day grind, he loves taking pictures of God's creation, which encompasses a plethora of subjects. Whether you are an interior designer, a buyer for hotels or corporate offices, or shopping for wall art for your own home, you'll find a little something for everyone in his portfolio. If you don't see what you are searching for, please feel free to contact him, as this is just a small sampling of his body of work.
