For once, we were in the right place at the right time to see the trees change color. This is in Early October, between Lake City and Capitol City, Colorado on a rough, winding two lane path that was originally built to service the silver mines in the area. I loved the setting sun that shone through the aspen leaves, making them almost translucent.
As summer fades into fall, the days start getting shorter and there is less sunlight. This is a signal for the leaves to prepare for winter and to stop making chlorophyll. Once this happens, the green color starts to fade and the reds, oranges, and yellows become visible.
Steve Templeton spends his retirement days operating a small professional camera & lens rental operation in Abilene, TX. When he can get away from the day to day grind, he loves taking pictures of God's creation, which encompasses a plethora of subjects. Whether you are an interior designer, a buyer for hotels or corporate offices, or shopping for wall art for your own home, you'll find a little something for everyone in his portfolio. If you don't see what you are searching for, please feel free to contact him, as this is just a small sampling of his body of work.
